Five Friends Sunday Afternoons
Anthology. Press of Light and Space. 2018. Poems by John Lee, Lyman Grant, Bill Jeffers, David Jewell, and John Oakley McElhenney. These friends met each other in the late 1980s in association with The Austin Men’s Center and MAN! Magazine. After many years and many travels, they began meeting again in Austin, Texas, for conversation and for writing poems in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. These are some of the poems that grew from those meetings. Lyman contributed nine poems, which would later appear in 2018: Found Poems and Weather Reports, and in Symptom and Desire: New and Selected Poems.
